Micro Mayhem — 0.95 Beta

Beta status: Windows, Linux, and browser builds are available below. Windows device testing is still pending. Expect bugs: arena boundaries and some menu paths are still being checked.

Tiny robots. Big trouble.

Micro Mayhem is a third-person arena fighter about little robots beating the crap out of each other. Pick a fighter, learn its weapons, and try to leave the arena with more robot than the other guy.

This is the 0.95 beta. I want people playing it, finding the awkward parts, and telling me what needs work.

Pick your fight

  • Nine fighters: Vanguard, Ronin, Wasp, Bastion, Jester, Relay, Pyro, Kuni, and guest fighter Tiny-Tem.
  • Dedicated ranged, melee, and signature attacks. Getting close doesn't silently turn your gun into a punch.
  • Dash, jump, block, parry, and manage your drive. Emptying the meters is easy. Being somewhere useful afterward takes practice.
  • Training to learn the basics; CPU battles to put them to use.
  • Windows and Linux downloads add local split screen, match setup, and an Arcade ladder.

Play in your browser

Desktop browser with WebGL 2 and a standard gamepad required. Click the game and press a controller button to claim your pad. Browser combat does not support keyboard/mouse or touch. Start with Training, then try a duel or one fighter against three CPU teammates.

The browser build uses one camera. Download the Windows or Linux version for local split screen and the full native menus.

Download and play

Extract the entire ZIP before running the game. On Windows, launch `micro-mayhem.exe`. On Linux, launch `micro-mayhem.x86_64`; if needed, enable execution permission first. Keep the executable, `.pck`, and Effekseer library together.

On desktop, choose Play / Match Setup. Pick your fighter, place each human player's token, then choose a stage. Confirming the stage starts the fight. Back from stage selection keeps your fighters.

Controls — Xbox-style labels

Left stick moves. Right stick looks and acquires targets. RT fires Primary, Y fires Secondary, and LT uses Melee. A jumps, B dashes, X guards/parries. LB/RB dash sideways. Click the right stick for a charged Signature. Start pauses and shows your fighter's move reference.

Start with Vanguard. Move, acquire a target, fire once, dash away, then try a block. You don't need to learn nine movesets before your first match.

Tell me what worked. Tell me what sucked.

Start a discussion in the community below after a couple of matches:

  1. Which fighter did you use, and on what machine/controller?
  2. What felt good?
  3. What was confusing or frustrating?
  4. What would make you play another round?

For a bug, include 0.95 beta, the build number, Windows/Linux/browser, what you did, and what happened. A short clip helps.

Please keep personal information out of public reports. The native development Codex console is not a public feedback service.

Want me to keep working on it?

Play it and tell me how it went. If you'd also like to help fund more work, you can support me on Ko-fi. No pressure.
